Agriculture Ministry expects no price rise for staple food

MOSCOW, Mar 10 (PRIME) – The prices of Russia’s key food will not increase with the exception of those not produced locally, the Agriculture Ministry said on Tuesday.

“The Russian Agriculture Ministry does not expect an increase of the prices for the key categories of food,” the statement said.

“The share of imported components in the domestic products is dismal. A high rate of farmers’ readiness for field works was ensured beforehand, the key goods for the spring campaign have been already bought.”

The ministry said that imported products could see some price growth.
